Jamie has been the Manager of Astro Kennels since shortly after they opened their doors in April 2008. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Jamie moved back to Simpsonville and fell in love with her family’s newest adventure: Astro Kennels. As a child her family raised and bred English Springer Spaniels until they discovered the world of the German Shepherd Dog. Now they breed and train German Shepherds for everything from pets to police work dogs and Search and Rescue. Her dog, Denali, is trained in personal protection. When she isn’t working at the kennel she is busy training her puppies and enjoying the outdoors. She is also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Jamie Milan, Manager
Kayce has been working at Astro Kennels for two years now. She is a sophomore at Greenville Tech and will be transferring to USC Upstate next year as a Communications Major. She has loved dogs for as long as she can remember. She grew up around two family dogs, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. Her passion for animals extends beyond dogs. Kayce owns a horse which she shows nationally in the paint horse circuit and even received three Top 10’s at the Regional 4-H Show in Arkansas last summer. When she began working at Astro she decided it was time to purchase a dog of her own. She adopted George, a Plott Hound, from the Greenville Humane Society. She trained George herself in obedience and even put him through Astro’s Canine Good Citizen class, where he of course passed with flying colors!
Kayce Stevens, Office Assistant
Ellen Parker has been working at Astro since shortly after opening and is one of Astro’s longest running employees. You’ll see her smiling face in the office, the kennel area, at events and sometimes even during training sessions! She is a senior at Hillcrest High School and is going to Greenville Technical College next year to try her hand in nursing. Ellen has always loved animals and even considered being a veterinarian for some time. Her family has always had animals and she has been riding horses for a few years. She has two dogs and a cat at home, but the rest of her pets are the dogs and cats that visit Astro Kennels!
