Is your dog a Canine Good Citizen yet?

Astro Kennels is proud to be a certified AKC evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen test.



We currently offer evaluations for the following tests: Canine Good Citizen , Urban Canine Good Citizen , Community Canine (advanced CGC), as well as the AKC Trick Dog titles.

Is Your Dog Ready?

The AKC Canine Good Citizen test as well as the trick dog titles are priced at $25 per dog. The Urban CGC and Community Canine tests are priced at $45 per dog.


If your dog is not quite ready for the test we recommend our Intermediate Obedience Class. We offer scheduled testing sessions two days per month at our Five Forks location.


Please see below for the schedule. If you cannot attend one of our scheduled testing dates but would like to have your dog evaluated, please give one of our offices a call to schedule a private evaluation. 


Five Forks location - First Tuesday of every month and third Thursday of every month at 4:00pm


CGC testing is available at our Mauldin location by request.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Test Items:

  1. Accepting a friendly stranger
  2. Sitting politely for petting
  3. Appearance and grooming
  4. Out for a walk (loose leash walking)
  5. Walking through a crowd
  6. Sit and down on command and staying in place
  7. Coming when called
  8. Reaction to another dog
  9. Reaction to distraction
  10. Supervised separation
